About the Author

Dr. Brandon Dale is a physician-scientist, conservationist, and lifelong outdoorsman whose work bridges the worlds of medicine, mentorship, and land stewardship. A native of southern Louisiana and now based in Manhattan, Brandon has spent the past 10 years helping to reimagine what it means to belong in the outdoors. He is nationally recognized for his efforts to expand access, equity, and representation in hunting and angling communities—uplifting the stories of new hunter-angler-conservationists and advocating for a future where everyone feels at home on the land. He serves as the New York Ambassador for Hunters of Color, Vice President of NYC Trout Unlimited, and a board member for New York Backcountry Hunters & Anglers. His outdoor writing has appeared in Sierra Magazine, Harvesting Nature, Outdoor Life, and other publications focused on equity, ecology, and tradition in the field.
